STEAM Night – Lost in Space

Come and get lost in space as astronauts take over Pinecrest Gardens for a magical night surrounded by the entire Solar System and beyond! Learners of all ages will enjoy 3 hours full of exploration and discovery. From our unique Planetarium exhibition to our interactive, hands-on stations, Lost in Space by Discovery Lab will be like nothing you have seen before. Visit your favorite planet and participate in fun hands-on activities while you learn quick and important facts about our solar system.

WESTSIDE STORY IN CONCERT
Thursday, February 17 & Friday, February 18 | 8 p.m. | www.pinecrestgardens.org/music
Join us for a lively concert version (orchestra on stage with singers) of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s famed musical West Side Story featuring the Alhambra Orchestra and Vocalists/Actors from the Miami Acting Company. This 2-night event showcases an incredible multi-generational and multi-national cast along with a live 50-piece orchestra.

MUSICAL STORIES FROM AROUND THE GLOBE

Orchestra Miami presents the music of Victoria Bond in four compositions based on stories from around the world: “The Long-Haired Girl”, based on a Chinese folk tale about a girl who saves villagers from dying of thirst, “Corn in the Rock”, based on a Mayan folk tale that tells about how a Coyote steals the corn form the other animals, and how they work together to get it back, “Babies Can’t Eat Kimchi” about two Korean sisters and their unbreakable bond and “Listen to the Wind”, based on a Pakistani Folk song. Performed by the chamber ensemble of Orchestra Miami, with guest soloists and choir.

JOBIM FOREVER

South Motors Jazz Series at Pinecrest Gardens presents…a special Brazilian Jazz night with Grammy Award winning pianist Antonio Adolfo ensemble and vocalist Carol Saboya. The two will delight you with a night of Samba and Bossa Nova under the stars. Tickets are reserved seating, advance purchase recommended.

MARCH MADNESS III IN FEBRUARY
Sunday, February 26 | 4 p.m. | www.pinecrestgardens.org/music
Join Greater Miami Symphonic Band conductors Robert Longfield and Roby George as they bring back this immensely popular theme. All music selections are marches of one sort or another: patriotic, classical, popular—and even music you didn’t know was a march!

ARTISTS SET THE TABLE

An exciting collection of ceramic plates created by more than 60 artists. This exhibition is curated by Hartvest Project in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Arts of the Americas and the Fine Art Ceramics Center. Exhibition will be on view through March 31.
