“Together We Shall Love Florida,” an organization co-founded by a group of Palmetto Bay students, hosted a gathering of foster families from all across Miami-Dade County on Aug. 3 for a day of nature, educational activities, and fun at Zoo Miami.

In partnership with Citrus Family Care Network, Miami-Dade County’s lead agency for child welfare services, the event provided a unique opportunity for more than 50 foster families to connect, bond, and create lasting memories at the iconic Zoo Miami. Attendees enjoyed exploring the zoo’s diverse animal exhibits and experience a special presentation by Zoo Miami Foundation staff on multiple animal species.

“We enjoyed our time together at Zoo Miami. The opportunity to put a smile on the kids’ faces is exactly why we founded Together We Shall Love Florida,” said Eric Eikenberg Jr. “Knowing how hard life can be, we truly love being able to support Florida’s foster families and demonstrate love to them.”

Eikenberg also expressed his deep gratitude to the Citrus Family Care Network, the Zoo Miami Foundation, Zoo Miami, and Publix for making the event a success.

Together We Shall Love Florida is a 501(c)3 non-profit. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of Florida’s foster children through giving, service, and love – and to serve communities of children while inspiring others to share God’s love in supporting those in need.

The organization was founded in 2021 by Palmetto Bay residents Eric Eikenberg Jr, Reva Eikenberg, Patrick Eikenberg, and Katie Eikenberg.
