Pinecrest Gardens continued to support green initiatives with its annual Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 27. The day was dedicated to celebrating the beauty of the planet, with eco-friendly activities for the entire family. Mayor Cindy Lerner met with Garden Club members and there were wildlife shows and jazz in the state-of-theart outdoor amphitheater, plant exhibitions, an eco-friendly fashion show, informative workshops and demonstrations on a variety of ecological topics such as composting at home. There were also free cookies baked in a solar oven, a ladybug release in the meadow and family-friendly lectures.
