The Gardens welcomes spring with entertainment, recreational activities, children’s laughter and botanical beauty at its best.
Approaching the conclusion of our cultural activities for the 2015/2016 season, we can say without question of a doubt that this has been the best festival season and season of the arts we have had since the launch our Arts in the Gardens initiative. Having the likes of a Branford Marsalis or Doc Severinsen headlining our South Motors Jazz Series, showcasing three different orchestras and a concert band, three different theater companies, three dance presentations and numerous recitals and other performances it is always a challenge to look ahead to the next season and say, “how will we outdo ourselves next year.” Our festivals grow in popularity with each year and it is safe to say that the numbers of attendees confirm that we continue prove ourselves as THE family destination for recreation, entertainment, fabulous festivals all staged on one of the most breathtaking botanical settings in South Florida.
But that said…it’s not over just yet. The next two weeks continue to offer wonderful events with a focus on children featuring movies, theater and orchestral concerts the whole family can enjoy.

Family Film Friday presents…
The Good Dinosaur
Friday, April 22, 8:00 p.m.
“By turns breath-taking to look at and emotionally engaging, the film has to rate as a triumph for the way in which it can appeal to audiences of every age while perhaps relying more on classic storytelling elements.” Rob Carnevale – Indie London
Luckily for young Arlo, his parents (Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand) and his two siblings, the mighty dinosaurs were not wiped out 65 million years ago. Good fortune shines on the frightened dino when he meets Spot (Jack Bright), a Neanderthal boy who offers his help and friendship. Together, the unlikely duo embark on an epic adventure to reunite Arlo with his beloved family. Enjoy full theater amenities…outdoors. Best hot dogs and popcorn in town! In conjunction with Shakespeare companies across the Globe and the Folger Shakespeare Library, Shakespeare Miami will present a costumed staged reading of Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy. This production is a costumed staged reading performed by professional actors, and directed by Colleen Stovall, Shakespeare Miami’s Producing Artistic Director.
