A letter from a Pinecrest Junior Girl Scout

Dear Editor,

On September 11, 2018, Girl Scout Troop 1832 is thankful for visiting The Village of Pinecrest Police Station and Council Meeting. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet Sgt. Gorsline who gave us the tour around the police station.  I learned how the station tracks active police cars out on duty on their dispatch center T.V. He also introduced us to the only K9 (Officer Maze) and his partner.  We took learned the importance of his job.  Afterwards, we were treated to seat on the Village Motorcycle. After our tour, we met with Council member Anna Hochkammer.  We had an opportunity to ask her questions like: What it takes to become a council member?  Councilwoman Hochkammer also treated us to cookies and brownies that were delicious. Before their monthly meeting started, Mayor Corradino asked our troop to lead in The Pledge of Allegiance.  The meeting started with a girl proposing that the Village stop using plastic straws at restaurants. She stated that sea life was being threatened and asked in the Village could support her campaign.  Overall, our troop had an Amazing evening of learning.  Thank you, Village of Pinecrest, for helping me earn by Inside Government Badge.

Sincerely,

Savannah M. Sanin
