Andrea Fuentes has been named director of communications & public relations for Gulliver Schools.
AWest Kendall resident, Fuentes will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the five-campus school’s marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities.
“Gulliver has a truly remarkable educational program,” said Fuentes, “and I deeply respect the school’s historic traditions, community involvement and ongoing commitment to excellence.”
Fuentes will supervise media relations and special events, as well as the development of support materials and services, creation of promotional materials for capital campaigns and advertising and the development of school publications.
“With her national-level experience in communications, media relations, marketing and strategic planning, Andrea will play a key role in helping Gulliver Schools advance our mission and achieve our strategic objectives,” said head of school John Krutulis.
From 2001 to 2005, Fuentes served in the media and public affairs programs at the White House Office of Global Communications, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration. She came to Miami in 2005, working with the public relations firms of Hill & Knowlton and Thorp & Company in Coral Gables. Most recently, she owned and operated Fuentes Communications, a public relations firm. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana.
