The Merrick Festival Caroling Competition is an eagerly awaited holiday tradition in the City of Coral Gables. It’s a special way of celebrating the holidays, continuing the tradition of the festive sound of children, caroling in front of the beautiful poinsettia tree. It’s HOLIDAY GLEE!
This year, 30 Miami-Dade and Broward, middle and senior high, public, private and parochial schools, perform free holiday concerts. More than 1,500 young people, compete for cash prizes over five nights on the steps of 550 Biltmore Way Building in Coral Gables. Beginning Wednesday, November 29, performances run through Sunday afternoon, December 3. Middle Schools perform on Wednesday and Friday. Senior High performances are on Thursday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon from 3 until 6 p.m. All evening performances are from 7 until 10 p.m. The concerts are free.
The Grand Prize Winners return on Tuesday, December 5 to perform their award winning programs and accept their checks, at the 31st Annual Awards Show, beginning at 7 p.m. For information visit www.carolingcompetition.org or call 305-491-4180.
