Remembrance Ceremony to be held During Police DUI Enforcement Event

Remembrance Ceremony to be held During Police DUI Enforcement EventHundreds of luminaries dedicated to DUI victims will light up the entrance of Evelyn Greer Park during the annual multi-agency Labor Day Weekend DUI Enforcement Event.

A DUI Victim Remembrance Ceremony will be held as part of an annual multi-agency Labor Day DUI Enforcement Event hosted by Pinecrest on Friday, August 30th at Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124th Street.

To purchase a luminary, please visit pinecrest-fl.gov/police. Each luminary is $5. Individuals can buy any number of luminaries dedicated to one or more individuals. All proceeds will go directly to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) South Florida.

Luminaries will be placed at the traffic circle just outside of the Evelyn Greer Park pavilion from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. MADD advocates will share how DUI changed their lives at 8 p.m. before officers leave to patrol US 1 from Lejune Road in Coral Gables to 184th Street in Cutler Bay. The public is welcome to attend.

This is event is hosted by Pinecrest in collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation, MADD South Florida and local police agencies that include North Bay Village, Medley, Doral, Miami Gardens, Coral Gables, Miami, Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, Homestead and the Florida Highway Patrol.
