When Laura Lagomasino-Delmonte signed on as the Deering Estate Foundation (DEF) development director, Mary Pettit, the foundation’s executive director, likened the hire to “getting a No. 1 draft pick.”
Described as a super-achiever and a triple-threat, Lagomasino is an accomplished professional who has the skills to build relationships, fundraise and lead other mission-driven efforts.
“I am thrilled to be here and I hope to add value in regards to fundraising and event planning to an already successful organization and a strong board,” Lagomasino said.
She already is coordinating the sponsors, restaurants and entertainment for the foundation’s annual fundraising event, Wine On Harvest Moon, on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Before joining DEF, Lagomasino was the director of Business Development and Strategic Planning at Jackson South Community Hospital. In her new role, she will provide leadership in the foundation’s short- and long-term planning, while directing the organization’s membership programs and fundraising activities.
“I have had the privilege of working with Laura on many community-based initiatives over the past several years,” Pettit said. “Little did I know that she also had extensive professional experience in the nonprofit world serving the American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association.”
Lagomasino, who is bilingual, earned her BS in Hospitality Management at FIU and MBA at Nova. She began her professional development in the private sector with Brinker International and Grainger in operational management, both Fortune 500 leaders in their industries.
“Her experience in the private sector combined with her work at nonprofit agencies provides a valuable platform for her to have an immediate impact on the Deering Estate.
