The AOS Gold Medal is the most prestigious award of the American Orchid Society.  It is awarded to a person who has shown a lifetime of service to the AOS.  During the 2025 AOS Spring Members Meeting held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Annapolis, Maryland, this gold medal was awarded to Robert Fuchs, President and owner of R. F. Orchids in Homestead, Florida.

They were very proud to choose Robert for this very honored award. The Board of Trustees reviewed and unanimously voted to recognize his dedication to the AOS with all he has done.  He has been Chair of the West Palm Judging Center, Trustee and Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Centennial Celebration of the AOS, Past President of the American Orchid Society, as well as personal contributions to the headquarters in Coral Gables, organization of the move to Coral Gables, and holding regular events at his beautiful gardens at R.
