At the August Special Council Presentation Councilwoman Jenifer Bailey proudly honored Miss Jeanette Mallory with a special proclamation recognizing her over 45 years of dedicated community service. The presentation was attended by Miss Mallory’s family, members of the Southwest Advisory Committee (SWAC), and numerous community supporters.
Councilwoman Bailey praised Miss Mallory’s tireless commitment to the Homestead community. Miss Mallory has served on the Southwest Advisory Committee for over 10 years, spearheading numerous initiatives, including food drives, back-to-school events, and Christmas toy drives. Her impactful work has made a lasting difference, particularly through her involvement with Farm Share food distribution programs and her leadership at the Intentional Provisions Outreach Corporation.
The recognition highlighted her efforts in providing essential services to underserved populations and her longstanding contributions to the Homestead Soup Kitchen, where she has been a vital supporter for over 20 years. Miss Mallory’s work extends beyond the local community, with her involvement in various organizations such as the Southeast Dade Ministerial Alliance and Citrus Health Network, showcasing her unwavering dedication to service.
In honor of her remarkable contributions, Mayor Steven Losner officially proclaimed August 21st, 2024, as Jeanette Mallory Day in the City of Homestead. The proclamation ceremony was a heartfelt moment, with Miss Mallory’s family joining her on stage to celebrate her outstanding achievements.
The City of Homestead commends Miss Mallory for her exceptional contributions and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of many, ensuring that her legacy of service will continue to inspire and uplift the community for years to come.
