The Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA) has coordinated a sock
distribution drive to various charitable organizations throughout the state during Foot Health Awareness Month in April. A podiatrist is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), a physician and surgeon who treats the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg. Because podiatrists specialize in foot care, they are concerned about the health of homeless and needy Floridians and believe distributing socks will help Florida’s poorest citizens keep their feet healthy and help them avoid foot injuries. FPMA distributed socks in Miami-Dade County on Saturday April 17, 2021.
FPMA is the largest podiatric physician advocate organization in the state, representing more than 1,000 members. FPMA members have practices in a variety of fields, including sports medicine, surgery, and pediatric foot care.
Today’s Podiatrist is a foot and ankle expert, specially trained to treat and evaluate patients
based on individual needs. Whether that evaluation necessitates surgical intervention or
conservative care, Today’s Podiatrist will provide the appropriate treatment.
