Nearly sixty years after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, the words still ring true.  That powerful message will inform the theme of the 2023 Homestead – Florida City Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Breakfast taking place Friday, January 13, 2022 from 7:00 am until 9:00 am.  Each year, these neighboring communities come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and this year’s theme, “The Power of the Dream,” will highlight how King’s dream lives on and our own dreams can empower communities to strive for equity and inclusion at all levels.

This years’ program will feature an inspiring address from Keynote Speaker Dr. Anthony Reed of Martin Memorial AME – commonly know as “the purple church.”  The program will also feature special performances and recognize the significant impacts of several community leaders.

The event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is required.  Visit www.cityofhomestead.com/mlk to register.
