The Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade, one of South Florida’s most active community service organizations, is now accepting online applications for college scholarships from seniors in the South Dade area.
The Club is expected to award several scholarships with a March 15 deadline for applying.
Kiwanis, for the fourth straight year, will include technical and trade school scholarships—along with traditional college scholarships—as part of their annual scholarship program.
“We understand that not everyone is focused on college and want to emphasize the importance of technical and trade school education, in addition to the traditional emphasis on college,” said Mia DeVane, chairperson of the scholarship committee. “We have made the application totally online, thus making it easier for seniors and their school advisors/administrators.”
