Dr. Beatriz Amendola, a radiation oncologist and founder of the Innovative Cancer Institute in South Miami was honored for her more than 35 years of dedication to healing patients with cancer when a Proclamation was presented to her on July 28 by Miami Dade Commissioner Xavier Suarez.
“Our approach to cancer patient care is to provide them with personal attention and compassionate concierge service,” said Dr. Amendola. “At Innovative Cancer Institute our commitment is to treat our patients using the highest standards, up to date techniques with the most advanced technology. I am honored by this Proclamation and will continue to do my best for my patients and my South Florida community.”
Dr. Amendola inaugurated the Innovative Cancer Institute in South Miami in 2008, featuring new and innovative techniques made available to local, national and international patients. In 2014, Dr. Amendola made a huge investment in her community and practice by expanding and opening a new state of the art Innovative Cancer Institute facility with a focus on radiosurgery and radiotherapy which just opened in July.
Not only do they treat patients at ICI, they also train national and international radiation oncologists and physicists from around the world, making South Miami an important medical training hub.
