FASTPASS Car Wash, partnered with the University of Miami, drive the community — raising money for various foundations and revitalizing the commerce of the Miami Beach area

Adam Musa was 19 when opportunity knocked on his door. Starting out as a promising student at University of Miami, doing a Double Major in Real Estate and Legal Studies, the intrepid junior had an eye for business.

“I was raised in the gas station business, it’s in my blood” goes Adam owner of FASTPASS. “My family has been in the industry since the early 80s. So when a location, and, more still, an opportunity presented itself in Miami Beach, I went for it. I didn’t let my college studies slow me down.”

What would eventually grow into a 24/7 convenience store, renovated car wash & Exxon

gas station, situated at 1840 Alton Rd, had once been an older Texaco pump and go & juice bar “Milk Gone Nuts” “I had to get creative and use the resources and connections I was surrounded by at school.”

Partnered with his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon at the University of Miami, Adam took a guerrilla-like approach to the business. Creating ingenious social media campaign, galvanizing his service through fringe marketing tactics, and nourishing an unadorned startup mentality with his dorm floor-mates. “Everyone got interested, all my friends and fraternity brothers, and they all chipped in one way or another. We started to think outside the box.”

Adam’s objective with FASTPASS are manifold — provide a 24/7 services in the community, dream differently, expand, develop action plans, groom professionals in the field, and overall give if possible back to the community.

“For me it’s important to always, one way or another, help out. To not only invest and reinvigorate but advocate change and drive opportunities. To promote youthful entrepreneurship, to recognize potentials leads, to innovate industry standards, and – as we’ve done with our fundraisers – generate capital for causes we feel strongly for.”

Adam Musa not only managed to stimulate the local economy by pushing his vision of what a “express” car wash model should be but stayed true to his values by raising much need capital for various charitable foundations, amongst them the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, and UMiami Jackson Hospital.

“In the beginning it’s all about networking with and fostering my contacts in the UMiami

educational community. Part of everything I’ve done, a great deal of the success I’m experiencing, is due to my friends, family, and surrounding community. I was just 19, when I took this leap and took over the business — To say I was wet behind the ears would have been an understatement.”
