Miami’s Community Newspapers: Bringing People Together Since 1960

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Community News has been part of the neighborhood since 1960, when Ron Miller bought what was then a once-a-month paper called the South Dade Shopping News. It was small, personal, and full of local stories—and that’s exactly the spirit we’ve carried forward. Today, we’re proud to serve neighborhoods from Homestead to Aventura and South Broward. And after all these years, our mission is still the same: bringing people together.

“Community isn’t just something we cover—it’s something we live every day. Whether it’s telling a neighbor’s story, helping a small business grow, or just being there at the right moment, we’re all about bringing people together.”
—Michael Miller, Publisher & Executive Editor

Meet Michael & Grant

These days, the company is run by Ron’s sons—Michael Miller and Grant Miller. If you’ve seen one of our podcasts or been to a community event, chances are you’ve seen one (or both) of us there. We love connecting with people, sharing their stories, and showing up for the neighborhoods we serve. For us, this isn’t just business—it’s personal.

“If you walk into our office, you’re going to be greeted with a smile—and probably get invited onto a podcast! I love meeting people, promoting local events, and being part of what makes South Florida great.”
—Grant Miller, Community Connector & Host

Your Neighborhood. Your News.

Miami’s Community Newspapers has 13 neighborhood publications covering places like Pinecrest, Kendall, Coral Gables, South Miami, Miami Beach, Doral, Aventura, and South Broward. We focus on the people, the small businesses, the local events, and the stories that matter most to the folks who live and work here. You can find all our stories online at communitynewspapers.com—along with photos, headlines, and the latest community updates.

Podcasts That Feel Like a Conversation

At cnewstv.com, we produce more than 35 original podcasts every week—most filmed right in our South Miami studio. We sit down with business owners, community leaders, elected officials, nonprofit champions, and just plain great people doing good things. Whether we’re recording in-studio or out at a local business, every show is about real talk and real connection. And yes—it’s all about bringing people together.

Newsletters & Social Media: Always in the Loop

Our weekly e-newsletters keep readers up to date on what’s happening in their neighborhoods—top stories, upcoming events, featured podcasts, and local updates. And we’re active every day on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter), where we post highlights, videos, and shoutouts from across town. If it’s happening in your part of Miami-Dade or South Broward, chances are we’re covering it.

Meet & Greets with a Local Touch

Each month, we host in-person “Meet & Greet” events at our office, at Casa Cuba, and at venues in Pinecrest, Doral, and Aventura. These are great chances to mix and mingle with local leaders, business owners, and neighbors. They’re casual, fun, and filled with the kind of conversations that spark new ideas and build real community. That’s what we’re about—bringing people together in every sense.

Helping Local Businesses Shine

We work closely with small and mid-size businesses to create marketing that works—print ads, podcast sponsorships, social media campaigns, and short video commercials. One of our most popular services? We go right to your business and shoot short, catchy videos made just for social media. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube—we’ll help you get noticed.

Legal Notices Done Right

We’re proud to be a qualified newspaper of record in Miami-Dade and a favored choice in Broward County for legal notices. Whether it’s a fictitious name ad (DBA), a probate notice, a divorce ad, or a public auction listing—we’ll walk you through it and get it published the right way.

Still Local. Still Here. Still Bringing People Together.

After all these years, we’re still doing what we love—telling the stories of our neighborhoods, highlighting good people doing great things, and creating space for connection. Whether it’s in print, on a podcast, or at an event, we’re proud to carry on the tradition started by our dad, Ron Miller. And we’re just getting started.
