This academic year, 2021-2022, Palmer Trinity School (PTS) will mark its 50th anniversary. Surrounded by the Episcopal tradition, PTS provides a vibrant community where students are inspired to excel academically, build character and become global citizens.

“Our school community reflects the pride of shared purpose and love of learning in a values-based environment where each child is respected for his or her uniqueness,” said Patrick Roberts, Head of School. “We are deeply grateful for our Trustees and staff over the past five decades for their unwavering commitment. We are proud of our alumni who have gone on to become agents of change as well as our current students who are continuing on that path.”

Recently, PTS held its 50th-anniversary kickoff and celebrated the opening of the new Student Life Building. The Student Life wing is a functional space housing Palmer Trinity’s Admissions and College Counseling offices, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) spaces, a Global Citizenship area, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), as well as the Student Activities and Academic Dean offices. It is centrally located in the heart of the PTS campus, sitting next to the newly constructed Trinity Chapel.

Founded in 1972, Palmer Trinity School began as a promising 22-acre campus in Palmetto Bay and has grown into close to 60 acres of tranquil open space that fosters the curiosity, initiative, and critical thinking of students and provides an ideal backdrop for independent learning.

Palmer Trinity’s mission is reflected in its motto Virtus, Humanitas et Spiritus, which supports the power of virtue, humanity, and spirit. Both its middle and upper school programs maintain a balance between traditional academics and innovative instruction. A focus on sustainability, global citizenship, and character development is woven throughout all its courses.

Earlier this year, PTS was certified by International Baccalaureate (IB) as an IB World School, Palmer Trinity offers its IB Diploma Programme to upper school students, a two-year program of study that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people in grades 11-12.

The school was recognized as a STEM School of Excellence for the 2020-2021 school year by ITEEA, the professional organization for technology, innovation, design, and engineering educators. Palmer Trinity was one of ten schools selected from across the country for its commitment to providing a robust integrative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program.

In addition, PTS was recognized with a certificate of appreciation by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins for its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives supporting anti-racism education on campus, in the community, and abroad. PTS’s Mosaic, a signature program, complements its academic program as it raises students’ awareness by empowering them to discuss issues pertaining to diversity and inclusivity.

Palmer Trinity School has built its academic program on the pillars of its Episcopal identity, preparing graduates for success as they matriculate to selective colleges and universities both nationally and internationally.

Palmer Trinity School welcomes the community to join them in celebrating 50 years in Palmetto Bay. For event information visit www.palmertrinity.org.
