One hundred of Miami-Dade’s best and brightest high school graduates who are college bound with help from the Burger King Scholars program were honored at the BK Scholars Awards Ceremony on June 4. They were recognized for their hard work as they embark on their college careers.
Scholars and families heard from some of the community’s most influential leaders including Deputy Mayor Russell Benford. Following the awards ceremony and presentations, the Burger King McLamore Foundation hosted a reception for the scholars.
This year, the Foundation granted $2.7 million in scholarship funds to almost 2,500 deserving students across North America. Since the inception of the Scholars program in 2000, $25.3 million in financial assistance has been awarded to scholars across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
