Former Miami Heat player and NBAAll-Star Glen Rice is once again bringing live professional Mixed Martial Arts cage fighting back to Miami with “Bad Blood 4: Battle of the Americas”. Taking place at the University of Miami’s BankUnited Center and airing on MGM Latin America and MTV Tr3s in the United States, Rice’s company, G-Force Promotions, will be presenting a group of both local and international MMA fighters to the South Florida community with the goal of providing great entertainment to local MMA fans.
Becoming a fan of this popular sport a few years ago, Rice became involved in promoting Mixed Martial Arts after realizing the lack of opportunities young fighters were being given to enter into the sport.
“I wanted to create a platform where these young guys could be taken off the streets and be put on a grand stage to showcase their talents,” states Rice. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for these athletes. They train a lot harder than most sports require and I feel fortunate to give them the opportunity to show off their skills right here in Miami.”
From his past MMA events in Miami, including Bad Blood 2: Battle of the Americasthat took place at the BankUnited Center in 2009, Rice has been able to successfully launch the careers of two current contestants on Spike TV’s The Ultimate Fighter — ISKA Regional Champion Jonathan Brookins and Ultimate Fighting Sensation Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres.
Rice continues to find rising talent as the main “Bad Blood 4” fight focuses on Mario “The Big Hurt” Rinaldi (9-4) as he faces American John Brown (7-2).
Also on the card is Dada 5000, Mike “The Wolverine” Rio, Victor Delgado, Danny Ruiz, Patrick Mikesz, Marcos De Matta, James Wynn, Vagner Rocha, Marius Cujba, Caleb Archer, Haender Rodriguez, Mario Ramos, Jason Jimenez, and Rynn “Blackout” Lasster in his professional debut.
Tickets for Bad Blood 4: Battle of the Americas, priced from $18 for students to $198 for VIP ringside seats that include All You Can Eat/Drink Pre-Party access (*price includes parking/facility fee), are on sale at ticketmaster. com, the BankUnited Center Box Office, or at 1-800-745-3000.
For an additional $45.00 with a regular ticket, you can purchase access to the All You Can Eat/Drink Pre-Party with celebrity appearances and fighter Meet N Greets. Miami’s own Trick Daddy is also set to perform at the event.
The weigh-in will take place at Splitsville on November 17th beginning at 3:00PM.
