Miami Christian School (MCS) (begins celebrating its 60th anniversary year on Mar. 7 with a charity golf tournament at Killian Greens, 9980 SW 104 St.
Registration fee is $125 and includes breakfast, steak or chicken lunch, cart fees, goodie bag with collared shirt, cap, golf balls and a chance to win a grand prize. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration at 8 a.m. and start at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and is available for those who do not play at a charge of $40 to be prepaid by Mar. 1. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will benefit Sunil’s Home Orphanage, an organization that has rescued hundreds of homeless children from the mean streets of India. Miami Christian School has been lending its support for this home for years with students corresponding and sending gifts on a regular basis.
One of the home’s board members, Lynn Bauer, makes presentations after each of her trips to India to update the students on their adopted family at Sunil’s Home. For information on Sunil’s Home, visit www.sunilshome.org.
Additional festivities for MCS’s 60th anniversary include a family picnic on Saturday, Mar. 8, costing $7 for adults and $5 for children. This promises to be a great way for alumni to reconnect and participate in athletic competitions — always a crowd pleasure.
