Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez was sworn into office by Judge Ivan F. Fernandez of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida on July 1 at the Stephen P. Clark Center in a private ceremony surrounded by the new mayor’s immediate family.
Mayor Gimenez’s formal installation ceremony, which was open to the public, took place on Wednesday, July 6, in the Miami-Dade Commission Chambers at the Stephen P. Clark Center.
“Now that I have been sworn in, it’s time to get to work,” Mayor Gimenez said. “The voters have entrusted me to make their voices heard. I will work diligently and transparently to make this community where I live and work in the best place possible.”
