Temple Judea, one of Miami’s largest reform congregations, has named Howard Goldman as executive director.
“Howard has a deep understanding of how Jewish communal organizations function and well as important qualities such as trustworthiness, integrity, business acumen, financial and fundraising expertise. We look forward to his leadership,” said Rabbi Judith Siegal of Temple Judea.
Goldman served on the International Board of Directors of Hillel from 2000 to 2004 and was co-chair of the Hillel International Lay Leaders Conference for 2003 and 2004. Hillel is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world, working with thousands of college students globally.
He was on the board of directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation from 2000 to 2006, president of the Florida Hillel Council from 2000 to 2002 and president of the Hillel at the University of Florida from 2002 to 2006.
He is a distinguished business and financial executive whose career spans 30-plus years in a variety of industries.
Goldman retired in 2003 after being chair and president at Cedar Fresh Home Products LLC, a household products manufacturer/marketer. Goldman holds an MA in Social Psychology and a BA in Psychology, with high honors, from the University of Florida. He also has participated in executive courses and development programs at the University of Pennsylvania, UCLA, Clemson University and IBM.
