As SIB Mayor, Larisa Svechin Promises a Government Closest to the People and Promises to Unify the SIB Community and Keep Taxes Low

This past Election Day proved historical, and I am so humbled by your support, which resulted in my first-place showing in the race for Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach! On Dec. 6, Sunny Isles Beach goes back to the polls to choose to either go in the direction of greatness or plunge into grave danger of losing millions of dollars and alienating residents and investors.

My opponent, Dana Goldman, has decimated years of institutional knowledge and levels of reserves, while terminating scores of employees and increasing the adopted budget by 40% to that of the last administration.

My vision for Sunny Isles Beach requires dedication and hard work of course, but most importantly, I will truly listen to the people of our community. This means CUTTING spending, lowering taxes, and fortifying public safety and infrastructure. To be successful requires a 100% commitment to being available every day of the week, and always leaving my door open.

The hallmark of good government is accessibility and transparency. I will continue to ensure that both of these needed qualities remain firmly in place and protected, by ensuring they remain my own top priorities – as they have been for the last five years.

My dedication as a public servant led me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Government from Harvard University, from which I graduated in May 2022, because I recognize that a true leader must be willing to do the hard work, put in the time, keep promises, and inspire clear and constructive communication.

My motivation to run for Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach is as simple as 1-2-3: First and foremost, unify our community; promote a fiscally conservative approach; and finally, keep our taxes down. As your next Mayor, I will promote a positive place for families to live, students to learn, and small businesses to prosper. Sunny Isles Beach truly has what it takes to continue to thrive, and remain an economic powerhouse, while bringing back all the wonderful attributes that made each and every one of us choose to call Sunny Isles Beach “home.”

The best government is closest to the people, meeting them where they are, and genuinely listening to what they have to say, so that together we can make Sunny Isles Great again.

I ask that you come out on Tuesday, December 6 to vote for me, Larisa Svechin – to ensure we stay on course to greatness and historic prosperity.

  1. I am a senior resident of SIB for that past 20 years. What is your plan to help seniors who make up a large part of the population. Now that we have gateway things have started to improve. Can we have a dedicated senior center like in Hialeah where they have senior lunches M to F. The social seniors group run by Dennis doesn’t cut it. Is it possible that you could work together with Anita Funtek who had some good ideas?

  2. Please tell us about the $750,000 that Dezer Development is spending to elect you. Why are they spending this much money? Is it because you support their two yuuuuge projects on the west side of Collins Avenue (Thunderbird West and Epicure sites) that need radical, unprecedented upzoning?

Does your family work for Dezer Development? You don’t seem to have any other visible means of support?

    We await your replies.

P.S. The city’s property tax rate is the lowest in its history, and its financial reserves the highest in its history since you lost your seat. There’s just no way you can spin this any other way, Former Acting Mayor Svechin.

  3. Very positive. I just wish you had a “vice principal” who would get more specific about the many foolish and wasteful actions that the Goldman administration undertook. She spent heavily with nothing to show for it and, by firing excellent people, made a big dent in our collective memory of how we became great.

  4. Hi , I live at bay County Club
I’m a resident of sunny isles and golden beach for over 40 years
I basically grew up here . I wanted to ask you what can you do about the traffic and dangerous speeding in sunny isles. I see children leaving the school and people driving fast I actually have called to the police department about it.
    Thank You, Celia Gutierrez
