Paul Flanigan and Frank Zaffere have built a world-class destination restaurant on what many describe as Florida’s Rivera.

“We want to be number one on Travel Channel’s ‘Best Beach Restaurant in America’ listing. That’s our goal! The venue is one of a kind and can only be described as spectacular!” Said Flanigan.

“Patio dining begins five feet above the beautiful beach and extends past the shore break. Guests look out over the beautiful beach and turquoise waters giving way to the deep blue Gulf Stream and listen to the sounds of the surf. Beautiful bodies walking along the beach or tanning, swimmers, divers, fishermen and passing boats add more visual stimulation. It’s almost sensory overload. All this framed by the Sunny Isles Beach breathtaking skyline. It’s mesmerizing. And the food is equally amazing!”

“You hate to say you are all things for all people, but our Beach Bar will come close.” Said Zaffere. The Beach Bar menu features a full sushi and sashimi menu (created by “25- year sushi veteran”, chef Mike Jin) as well as traditional fresh local fish, steaks, burgers, sandwiches, salads and raw bar items (under the direction of Executive Chef Joseph Whitamore). “We hope to have something for everyone; caviar and chicken wing appetizers, Panini and authentic New England style Lobster Roll sandwiches, for example, show our menu diversity. You can walk in off the beach and feel comfortable (shirts and shoes required), arrive in a business suit for a power lunch, dine casually with your family or friends, or treat a special some-one to a romantic dinner.”

“Moreover, while waiting for service, guest can walk out on the Newport Fishing Pier and look at fish swimming along the pier and watch fisherman try to catch those fish. Or walk the beach.

Parents can dine while their young ones enjoy a playful swim in the ocean. Where else can you do that?” said Flanigan. The Beach Bar @ Newport Pier will be open for lunch and dinner and late-night dining, and will offer breakfast in the near future.

The Beach Bar @ Newport Pier has over 200 seats; 84 inside and 120 outside under the covered patios. Inside there are booths and tables and three bars: a full sushi bar, a raw bar and a liquor bar.

Outside there are high tops and low tables and a full liquor bar. Finally, The Beach Bar has special covered couch seating on the pier itself. “We have the most comfortable pier seating in the world.’ Said Joseph Zebrowski, Beach Bar partner and business consultant, who added. “The interior is Miami chic, clean lines and sliding windows and doors to accentuate all the views. Even the men’s restroom has a fantastic view of the Pier and the Gulf Stream! We set the tone with four 100” flat screen TV’s which feature surfing and diving videos. Another eight 50” flat screens show sporting and other events. It’s one of a kind!”

The restaurant is a partnership between The Newport Group, which operates the Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort and Kitchen 305, and Paul Flanigan and Frank Zaffere, owners of five Quarterdeck Seafood Bar & Neighborhood Grills across South Florida and Dive Bar Restaurant in Jupiter. Known as the Florida’s Riviera, Sunny Isles Beach is ranked as Trip Advisor’s number one US destination so it made perfect sense for the Newport Group to expand its portfolio with an original dining concept on the historic pier in a city with few waterfront restaurants,” said Steven Hurowitz, President of the Newport Group.

There are 29 public parking spaces located in the Pier Park Municipal Parking Lot, and valet parking is available at the Newport Hotel. 300 additional spaces will be available next year with the construction of the Gateway Park Municipal Parking Garage.

The Newport Fishing Pier has benefited from a $6 million facelift – which includes a $2 million contribution by Dr. Robert Cornfeld – coming after it was destroyed by Hurricane Wilma. Beach Bar @ Newport Pier will employ more than 120 local residents. For more information contact Paul B. Flanigan 954-448-6708; Frank Zaffere 954-448-6798; or Joseph Zebrowski 561- 358-7229.
