An oasis at Town Center Park that offers residents, ages 18 and over, a serene space for reflection and art appreciation.
In a significant stride towards promoting health and wellness, the City of Sunny Isles Beach proudly announces a new addition to the city — the Meditation Garden at Town Center Park. This serene oasis, nestled in the heart of our vibrant urban community, provides a space for reflection, meditation, and appreciation of art.
The city held a grand opening event on Wednesday, May 29 at Town Center Park, located 17200 Collins Ave. Residents, ages 18 and older, were invited to experience a unique evening featuring live music by renowned pianist Murray Hidary from MindTravel. Guests were immersed in a meditative experience, guided by soothing melodies through headphones.
This new Meditation Garden is the only park within city limits dedicated solely to adults. While the city has 11 parks with playgrounds for families and children, this garden offers a peaceful, slow-paced space for adults to enjoy. It features an ADA-accessible path that allows park-goers to stroll through and enjoy the natural surroundings. The garden also offers seating benches along the path and in central areas. Additionally, a new art installation by artist Mike Szabo adds a unique touch to this tranquil environment.
“This is a place for you to meditate, walk around, read a book, we’re going to have yoga, and we’re going to have art events,” said Mayor Svechin.
Originally envisioned by the City’s Public Arts Advisory Committee, the Meditation Garden is a testament to the community’s commitment to creating spaces to enhance quality of life for all its residents. The committee played a decisive role in the design and layout of the garden.
