The Cultural & Human Services department hosts events throughout the year. Here you will find a listing of the upcoming city events, and any important information you should know in order to attend.

Sawgrass Mills, Sunrise, Florida, Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Ready to visit Florida’s largest outlet mall? Then register today for a day of shopping at Sawgrass Mills. Price includes transportation and discount coupon booklet. The City Shuttle leaves SIB Government Center at 10:00 am and departs Sawgrass Mills at 4:00 pm returning to SIB Government Center by 5:00 pm. Heavy walking required. The cost is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

For taxpayers with low to middle income, with special attention to ages 60+. Taxes prepared by trained volunteers provided by AARP Tax-Aide Foundation. Free – No Reservation required.

SIB and FIU School of Hospitality Management Dining Event Friday, April 1, 2011, SIB Shuttle leaves SIB Government Center at 11:15 am.

You are invited to participate in the Advanced Foodservice Management luncheon of the FIU School of Hospitality Management at the Biscayne Bay Campus, HM Building, Dining Classroom 129. Lunch menu includes: appetizer or salad, choice of entrée, dessert, coffee and a glass of wine. Reservations must be paid in advance to confirm and can be made by check, cash or credit card to the City of Sunny Isles Beach by visiting Pelican Community Park or the SIB Visitor Center. Any cancellations must be made at least two days in advance to be reimbursed. Cost is $15 per person with out transportation.

Cost is $20 per person with transportation. Space is limited for this event and is on a firstcome, first-serve, paid reservation basis.

Damira Feldman Piano and Educational Concert Series – Saturday, April 2, 7:30 to 9:00 pm – Pelican Community Park, First floor activ- ity room, (18115 North Bay Road).

Russian pianist Damira Feldman invites all music aficionados and piano lovers to a special educational piano concert. This concert is the third in her education series and focuses on music from the Baroque era. Ticket price is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Price includes post-concert reception with the artist.

Wicked, Tuesday, April 5, 2011 – 7:00 pm – 11:45 pm, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Fort Lauderdale.
