Special thanks to Dalmatian Rescue/Pets at Risk and the Kiwanis Club of Sunny Isles Beach/North Miami Beach for their participation in the January Family Movie Night. The City of Sunny Isles Beach hosted a free screening of All Dogs Go To Heaven for its January Family Movie Night on Saturday, January 8th, 2011.

Residents enjoyed the free outdoor movie and arts and crafts area at Town Center Park. Also present were several adoptable dogs in search of loving homes in our city from Dalmatian Rescue. Sparky the fire dog was also on-site and explained to children the importance of being a responsible pet owner.

Dalmatian Rescue is a not for profit, no-kill organization dedicated to the rescue, protection, placement and education of this breed. The organization exists solely on donations and volunteer efforts with 100% of all contributions applied directly to the care and maintenance of the pets.

Hotdogs, hamburgers and refreshments were for sale from Kiwanis Club of Sunny Isles Beach/North Miami Beach. All proceeds raised from their food sales directly benefit children’s outreach programs in the Sunny Isles Beach community.

The next movie is scheduled for Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Town Center Park, featuring The Land Before Time.

Bring your own blanket or chair and join your friends and neighbors for a night under the stars. Parking is available at Town Center Park along the North side of 174th Street or you can use the Free City Shuttle Service. After the movie there will be a Shuttle Bus at Town Center Park to provide transportation.

This is another FREE event hosted by the Cultural and Human Services Department of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. For more information, call the Cultural and Human Services Department at 305.792.1706.
