Gladys Mezrahi, Power of The Heels Foundation,  among winners of  Wealth & Innovation Legacy Awards

The Hon. Gladys Mezrahi, founder of The Power of the Heels Foundation, was among a group of select honorees in the Philanthropy category of the  recent WHealth and Innovation awards program.  Mezrahi said, “It was quite an honor to be recognized along with so many accomplished women who  have done so much for this community .”  Among the WHI 2022 honorees were Ramona Messore, Virginia Sanchez, Mayi De la Vega, April Irene Donelson, Shirlyon McWhorter, Dr. Vilma Biaggi, Michelle Rudnick, Gladys Mezrahi, Carmen Betancourt-Louis and Teresa Foxx.

Mezrahi added, “ Giving back is not about money or power….. it is about changing someone’s life by just holding their hand and showing them the way.

I learned that from my parents who impacted many lives during their time and my wish is to teach by example so that others, including my children, my grandchildren, my mentees, my interns, and especially the girls who go through our program can follow in my steps.

This award is not only a recognition of what we do but a sign that The Power of the Heels Foundation is on the right track to fulfill our mission of disrupting the poverty cycle by empowering girls and women to be financially independent, emotionally healthy and successful.”

With Emcee Jennifer Valoppi, the Lifetime Achievement & Legacy Award went  to Miami Dade’s Daniella Levine Cava and a very special feature was  Siedah Garret sing her award winning song she co-wrote for Michael Jackson “Man in the Mirror”

“With this year’s focus being LEGACY, there was no other recipient that we could think of, more befitting of the honor to receive the Lifetime Achievement & Legacy Award than Miami Dade’s esteemed Mayor, Danielle Levine Cava. She fervently engaged the audience in a speech about her role as a legacy leader as the founder of CATALYST MIAMI along with other initiatives to aid business owners with easier access to county services. WHI  has always been rooted in recognizing not only female moguls but women who have a consistent proven and unwavering track record of integrity and commitment to their respective industries. These women represent millions of consumers, insurmountable innovation, equality, diversity and inclusion in their respective industries,” cited Nicole Shelley Greenidge Prattico, Founder of WHEALTH & INNOVATION.

Among the special guests were Roberta Baskin, highly acclaimed journalist, having won more than 75 journalism awards, including the DuPont Columbia Award, and multiple Emmys and Peabodys and Real Housewives of Miami Star, Adriana De Moura.
