SGT. BOBBY RANDAZZO

Once again, Sunny Isles Beach Police Department’s Sgt. Bobby Randazzo of the Marine Patrol Unit was honored at the 15th annual Law Enforcement Officers (L.E.O.) awards banquet on March 7, 2015 at Jungle Island.

Sergeant Randazzo had been nominated along with his partner from Aventura police department, Officer James Hayton, by both their agencies in the Specialized Services category. Both men have been involved in numerous lifesaving rescues on the water of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean over the years. None however were as difficult and daring as the rescue of a diver who had been run over by another boat and had his arm all but severed from his body. Only the unbelievable and coordinated efforts and training of Randazzo and Hayton saved the man’s life. Both officers are known for their humility and professionalism and defer any recognition from themselves to the others involved like Fire Rescue and Air Rescue and the medical team at Ryder Trauma. But it starts with the First Responders and that is what this dynamic duo is known for over the years. They are an asset to their agency, their community and their profession. Congratulations to both veteran officers on their L.E.O. Award.
