I am pleased to announce the continued success of Operation Green Light (OGL), an initiative  designed to help Miami-Dade residents resolve their outstanding parking, traffic, and criminal  court costs. Held from September 23rd to October 6th, this event once again provided our  community with a valuable opportunity to settle fines without the burden of collection fees,  helping residents regain financial stability.

During this recent OGL event, participants saved over $173,000 in collection fees—costs that  can add up to 40% on top of the original fines once they are sent to collections. Many individuals  were also able to establish manageable payment plans, allowing them to pay off their debts at a  reasonable monthly rate. The OGL program not only helps residents save money but also offers a  pathway to reinstating driver’s licenses that may have been suspended due to unpaid fines and  fees.

OGL continues to be a vital resource for those burdened with excessive fees and penalties for  unpaid court costs. When left unpaid, these fines often escalate after being sent to collections,  placing an even greater financial strain on those already struggling. Through OGL, residents  have the chance to pay their fines in full or set up payment plans, all while avoiding collection  fees. This relief has been instrumental in helping individuals manage their court-related debts  and avoid further financial hardship.

To date, OGL has proven to be a tremendous success. Across three events, Miami-Dade residents  have saved over $716,000 in collection fees. Additionally, more than 13,900 payment plans have  been set up, helping thousands of individuals resolve their debts on manageable terms. This  initiative highlights my commitment to offering relief to our community, making a significant  difference in the lives of those who would otherwise face growing debts and the loss of driving  privileges.

By addressing these court-related costs and providing practical solutions, OGL contributes to a  more accessible and supportive justice system for our residents. The positive outcomes of this  event reaffirm its value, and we look forward to continuing this vital service in the future. I  would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my dedicated team for their hard work and  commitment—without their efforts, this program would not have been the success it is today.
