The planned improvements to the historic 515-acre park are aimed at enhancing recreational opportunities for Miami-Dade residents and ensuring the park continues to provide quality services to the community for years to come. Projects include a new recreation center with pool and splash pad, providing a state-of-the-art facility for fun and fitness.

For sports enthusiasts, projects include new pickleball courts, a bike pump track, a skate park, and a renovated farm village that will provide conservation education with recreational opportunities. These planned enhancements reflect Miami-Dade County Parks’ commitment to sustainable development and creating vibrant community spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Amelia Earhart Park is named after world-famous American aviator Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Since its founding in 1980, the park has provided residents and visitors with a four-mini-field soccer complex, a petting zoo, a disc golf course, bike trails, sand volleyball courts, an island playground, and a dog park.  It also boasts multiple lakes for water sports.
