South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, & Health Channel) is thrilled to announce our original KidVision PreK content can be found on WFSU’s new site The Learning Neighborhood, a dynamic educational platform developed in partnership with WFSU Public Media and the Florida Center for Interactive Media. This inclusion extends the reach of South Florida PBS’ KidVision PreK and provides young learners, parents, and educators with access to engaging resources that explore community roles and build essential soft skills through dynamic content.
The Learning Neighborhood is a PBS KIDS Ready to Learn (RTL) initiative, supported by funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the U.S. Department of Education. The platform aims to meet critical learning objectives, such as literacy, critical thinking, computational thinking, and everyday collaboration, by offering interactive content and resources aligned with RTL priorities.
“South Florida PBS is excited to support WFSU in their PBS Ready to Learn initiative, The Learning Neighborhood, with KidVision PreK content. Both PBS stations are committed to the learning needs of young children and families,” said South Florida PBS Education Director and KidVision host Penny Bernath, “The Learning Neighborhood provides another avenue for South Florida PBS KidVision to connect with Florida Families and contribute to their overall learning experiences. The website is fun, colorful, active, and full of useful information told through investigative storytelling. Perfect for learners young and old.”
South Florida PBS is excited to have KidVision PreK content available on this platform, bringing its unique focus on early childhood education and community exploration to a broader audience.
