Principal SIB Community School
SUCCESS – How do you spell success? At Sunny Isles Beach Community School success is spelled with an “A”. For two consecutive years SIBCS has earned an “A” grade from the State of Florida. This is based on student achievement on the FCAT test but is really a reflection of the excellent teaching at SIBCS. The outstanding faculty works diligently every day to ensure that students master skills in all areas of the curriculum. SIBCS is a success story.
At SIBCS, success is spelled with two “cees” – one for community and one for communication. The City of Sunny Isles Beach extended a warm welcome to the school, its parents and staff, and continues to embrace our goals and mission. The resources and friendship of the community have been available to the school in all our endeavors. C is also for communication and we pride ourselves on our efforts to communicate with parents and the community. Have you visited our newly updated website? Do you read our weekly Parent Express? Do you receive our automated phone messages? Do you check the marquee for the latest events? We want you to know what is happening at SIBCS and we want your feedback.
At SIBCS, success is spelled with a “u” because we could not accomplish our goals without you, the parents, who are the backbone of our school. Your enormous energy keeps our calendar filled with fun family activities, with informative meetings, and with fundraising events that benefit our children and teachers. You make SIBCS special in so many ways.
At SIBCS, success is spelled with dollar signs $ucce$$. Thank you to the Education Trust which continues to underwrite our big ticket items that are not funded by the District. In these difficult financial times, your commitment to our school truly makes a difference in each classroom. The Funds purchase of 60 computers last year enables SIBCS to stay in the forefront of technology in the educational arena.
Yes, SIBCS is a success story, but that story has many authors. As I have said so often, our success is built on teamwork and partnership. We could not do it without the “cees” , without the “u” and without the $. This Thanksgiving I am thankful that you are a part of our success.
