The Sunny Isles Beach Community School Fund raises money to supplement and complement the funds available to the Norman S. Edelcup K-8 Community School and the Alonzo and Tracey Mourning High School. We supply the funds that are required to keep the schools that our residents attend functioning at the very highest level. Luckily, we have many wonderful community assets that are willing to assist. Golden Beach residents Jacqueline and Fred Chouinard have stepped forward with a $25,000 donation that will purchase equipment and supplies that are state of the art technology for enhancing our schools’ educational offerings.
Jacqueline and Fred have shown that the words “Community Participation” have real meaning. Both Golden Beach and Sunny Isles Beach are the attendance/residential zones for our schools. This spirit of giving and participation of residents and businesses in our fund raising efforts has been very fruitful. Contributions and pledges are getting close to half a million dollars. Our students are being exposed to an educational program that is preparing them for the 21st Century world of University and Work.
The Sunny Isles Beach K-8 Community School Fund thanks Jacqueline and Fred for their very wonderful and generous contribution. A Recognition Plaque has been installed at the entrance to the Music Suite to show our appreciation and gratitude. The Trust Fund will be reaching out in the near future to businesses, parents, and other local citizens for their support.
