Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle announces the arrests and charging of three individuals during Operation Grease Monkey (April 29, 2025-May 1, 2025), as part of our efforts to prevent Human Trafficking during the week of the Formula One Miami Grand Prix.
“The ugly crime of Human Trafficking is made even more dreadful when the intended victims are children. Sadly, individuals are looking specifically for young victims,” said State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. “Fortunately, as this joint effort shows, the Miami-Dade law enforcement community is united to fight such predators.”
Charged in the operation were 27-year-old Daniel Xavier Oneil, 38-year-old Tito Xavier Gutierrez, and 27-year-old Tangir Jamil Riman.
Each individual is charged with one count of:
Human Trafficking of a Minor (Life Felony),
Traveling to Meet a Minor to Engage in Unlawful Sexual Conduct (2nd Degree Felony),
Using an Electronic Device to Solicit a Parent to Consent to Sex Conduct with a Child (3rd Degree Felony)
The operation involved individuals responding to a prostitution advertisement that had been established by our ICAC detectives as part of the investigation. When responding to these advertisements, they were informed by the pimp that a 12- and 14-year-old female were available to perform sexual acts in exchange for money. All subjects agreed to certain sex acts with either the 12- or 14-year-old. The subjects traveled to the agreed upon location and exchanged money with an undercover detective (UC) posing as the pimp. They were then provided the room key where they believed the underage girls were located and were taken into custody without incident upon entering the room.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office (SAO) Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF), alongside with the City of Miami Police Department (MPD), Special Investigations Section (SIS), Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Internet Against Crimes against Children (ICAC), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO), Coral Gables Police Department (CGPD), Hialeah Police Department (HPD), Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD), South Miami Police Department (SMPB), Key Biscayne Police Department (KBPD), Sunny Isles Beach Police Department (SIBPD) and Surfside Police Department (SPD) conducted this three (3) day proactive Human Trafficking operation.
If you know or suspect Human Trafficking is occurring, please report it to the SAO Human Trafficking Hotline at 305-FIX-STOP.
