Damira Feldman – Piano Concert Educational Series

By Stephanie Dethomas….
The City of Sunny Isles Beach has sponsored an educational classical piano series featuring Russian pianist Damira Feldman.

The series is enhanced by the presence of a large-screen art works projection. SIB Mayor Norman S. Edelcup serves as the program narrator and provides detailed description on the composers and the era in which they lived. This educational series is not only a music concert but a history lesson in the lives of the composers.

The next concert is “Treasures of the Baroque” featuring the piano works by Scarlatti, Lully, Rameau, Handel and Bach. It will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, at Pelican Community Park, 18115 North Bay Road, Sunny Isles Beach.

Piano enthusiasts were captivated at the first Damira Feldman piano concert at Pelican Community Park, on Saturday, December 11th. Her performance of “May I have a Pleasure?” dance music from gallantries of the 17th century to the dances of 19th century delighted the audience. Her second, pre-Valentine performance received rave reviews for, “Love Passed, The Muse Appeared.”

Immerse yourself in the arts with this full visual and audio classical music event.

Ticket price is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Price includes post-concert reception with the artist. The event will be held at Pelican Community Park, 18115 North Bay Road. Tickets are available at Pelican Community Park and the SIB Visitors Center located on the first floor of the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center. For more details, call 305.792.1706.
