Kick off the philanthropic season with the Kiwanis Club of North Miami Beach – Sunny Isles Beach with their 60th Anniversary Gala that honors Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen who will give a keynote speech. The event takes place at Christine Lee’s Restaurant at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach on October 18th, 2017 at 6:30 PM.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is the first Hispanic woman to have served in the U.S. Congress; Ileana represents Florida’s 27th Congressional District.

“I’m so honored to again join the Kiwanis in celebrating service to South Florida. The Kiwanis Club has always led by example and has made good works in our community its paramount priority. My remarks will simply tell the truth about the Kiwanis and its mission: when we join together to better those around us, our slice of the world shines,” said U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

Guests will enjoy a fantastic buffet, drinks, and live piano music. The program includes the installation of the Kiwanis officers, testimonies from student speakers who will emphasize character building and how the Kiwanis made a positive impact on their lives, and K-Family recognition.

“This is a major fundraiser for our club. There is a silent auction with great items from vendors throughout our community and the world. The money raised goes to serve the children of the world, one community and one child at a time. Especially the 11 Kiwanis K-Kids Clubs, Builders Clubs, Key Clubs, and CKI Clubs we sponsor and advise,” said Ed Margolis, Kiwanis gala chairman.

An amazing array of items and gift certificates highlights the silent auction. An original R. Britto piano print is one of the items to be auctioned.

Cost for the gala is $60.00 per person.
