“Johnnie Walker’s world-renowned brand speaks for itself, which is why we are extremely proud to be the first airport in the Americas to feature one of its luxury stores,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Department Chief of Staff Joseph Napoli.Congratulations to Diageo and Duty-Free Americas on achieving this major milestone.”

Dayalan Nayager, Managing Director, Diageo Global Travel, said: “I would like to thank our partners at Duty-Free Americas and Miami International Airport for this collaboration. Miami International Airport is the largest gateway between the United States and Latin America with over 44.5 million passengers traveling through it last year alone. This has made it a vital place for the super deluxe Scotch Whisky category and therefore the ideal location for the opening of this luxury Johnnie Walker Store. Designed to educate and inspire travelers, this store offers an interactive shopping experience that explores the history and pioneering spirit of this much-loved brand.”

Inspired by the location, Johnnie Walker will offer a limited-edition bottle to consumers. Created by local Miami illustrator Ernesto Maranje, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Miami Edition brings to life the brand’s journey from the agricultural lands of Kilmarnock in Scotland to the glistening shores of Miami through a series of hand-drawn illustrations. With only 500 bottles produced, this limited-edition bottle celebrates the pioneering spirit of Johnnie Walker which was one of the world’s first international brands to make its way to the USA in 1883. This special collector’s edition is currently on display in the store and will be available for purchase from March 2018.

Leon Falic, President, Duty-Free Americas, commented: “We are excited to partner with Diageo to open the first Johnnie Walker Store in The Americas. This stunning whiskey emporium has created an immersive luxury retail experience for our consumers looking to purchase and experience something extra special. Duty-Free Americas remains committed to providing shoppers with engaging brand experiences and therefore we are delighted to welcome this exciting new addition to Miami International Airport.”

The store will also be offering a range of Scotch whiskeys for consumers to discover. Each is one of many single malt and grain whiskeys that are available to the makers of Johnnie Walker in their pursuit of flavour. This will include The Singleton, Talisker, Oban, Lagavulin and some of our Special Release malts.

The Johnnie Walker Store is now open to travelers to enjoy in Miami International Airport’s North Terminal, located near Gate D14.
