In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the Archdiocese of Miami will celebrate its 2018 Diamond Anniversary Gala on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Marlins Park.
Presented by BelGioioso Cheese Inc., “The White Gala to Honor the White Collar” will raise much-needed funds for the clergy serving the Church and Catholic community in South Florida. This formal event — black and white attire suggested — featuring live entertainment by disco queen Gloria Gaynor, dinner and dancing, will support the spiritual and educational needs of seminarians in South Florida.
“Sixty years ago, Miami’s first bishop, the Most Rev. Coleman Carroll, had among his first priorities the establishment of seminaries to train future priests here in South Florida,” said Archbishop Thomas Wenski. “These seminaries have graduated some 500 priests who serve both in the Archdiocese and in Dioceses in Florida and Georgia. Archbishop Carroll’s vision lives on and is strengthened through the support provided by this gala for the formation of future priests to serve us here in South Florida.”
The Host Committee for this year’s gala includes: Tom and Susan Abraham, Charlie and Maria Arazoza, Tony and Conchi Argiz, Drs. Ada and Pepe Armas, Ambassador Paul and Trudy Cejas, Frank and Joanne Del Rio Jr., Bob Dickinson, Paul and Swanee DiMare,; James “Jim” Ferraro, Ambassador Steven J. and Dorothea Green, Alberto and Susana Ibarguen, Gene and Andreina Kissane, Keith Koenig, Joseph and Suzanne Lacher, Jorge Luis and Marile Lopez, Manny and Lisette Medina, Cesar Mendoza and Alex Villoch, Carlos Migoya, Juan and Laura Munilla, Frances and Eugenio Sevilla-Sacasa, Miguel and Zaida Sosa, Miguel and Sonnia Viyella.
