City of Miami Gardens Councilman David Williams Jr. will host the Miami Gardens Elementary Science and Engineering Fair on Monday, December 12, 2011, in the Science Department at St. Thomas University located at 16401 NW 37th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33054. The exhibits will be on display from 8am – 4pm.
Over 100 students from public, private and charter schools in Miami Gardens will participate for cash prizes from $250 – $500 for the most unique project. In addition, St. Thomas University will also choose a winner for the Dr. Wimsteelant Science Award in the amount of $250.
This is a great opportunity for fathers in the City of Miami Gardens to become involved in their child’s education by participating with them in creating unique projects. Students will compete for the following cash awards: 1st Place Winner – $500; 2nd Place Winner – $300; 3rd Place Winner – $200; 4th Place Winner – $100 and 5th Place Winner – $50.
On Tuesday, December 13, 2011 the winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony that will be held at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, 3000 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056 starting at 6:30pm.
