    Pitbull + Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava = Leadertainment

Starting in the 2025–26 school year, a groundbreaking educational partnership will launch in Miami, combining innovation, entrepreneurship, and student empowerment. Strive305, SLAM Miami, and Community Newspapers are joining forces on a project that’s sure to make both Pitbull and Mayor Daniella Levine Cava proud.

At the heart of the collaboration is the creation of entrepreneurial audio content produced by Strive305 Ambassadors and distributed via SLAM Radio—America’s only satellite radio station operated entirely by middle and high school students. Broadcast nationwide to an audience of over 35 million, SLAM Radio is based on the SLAM Miami campus and led by veteran broadcaster Larry “The Amigo” Milian.

With new Principal Carlos O. Alvarez at the helm, SLAM Miami is doubling down on its entrepreneurial roots. The school, originally founded with the support of Pitbull to uplift his home community, now aims to reignite the spirit of innovation across its student body. That’s where Strive305 steps in. Widely recognized as the HUB for local entrepreneurs, Strive305hub.com which recently expanded.

In this partnership, Strive305 Ambassadors will work alongside media veterans Grant and Michael Miller at the Community Newspapers studio to produce original shows focused on entrepreneurship and civic engagement. But this isn’t just a behind-the-scenes learning experience—there’s a live component, too. Miami-Dade County leaders—including Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, county commissioners, and department directors—will be invited to appear on-air for interviews conducted live by students. This gives young people an unprecedented opportunity to engage with decision-makers and gain first-hand experience in journalism, public speaking, and civic awareness.

The program is being finalized now and is on track to debut with the new school year. Organizers are also working toward a high-profile kickoff event that could include appearances by Pitbull and Mayor Levine Cava, reinforcing the deep local roots and community pride embedded in the initiative.

What makes this partnership particularly powerful is the alignment of mission across all the players involved. SLAM Miami provides a platform for student-driven media, Community Newspapers brings journalistic mentorship, and Strive305 supplies the energy and drive of its Ambassadors. Together, they are creating something bigger than the sum of its parts—a pipeline for future entrepreneurs, community leaders, and changemakers.

This initiative is more than an educational program; it’s a model of collaboration, empowerment, and opportunity. It’s a testament to what can happen when schools, institutions, and community leaders come together with a shared vision: to invest in the future of Miami by investing in its students.

Because when we all work together, great things truly are possible.

Mercedes EQS 450 is Miami’s Future

    MB EQS 450

I’ve been navigating Miami’s roads since I was a kid. From the endless construction on I-95 to the stop-and-go crawl along Ocean Drive, I thought I’d seen it all. Then Mercedes-Benz handed me the keys to their 2025 EQS 450, and suddenly, sitting in Miami traffic became almost enjoyable.

The first thing that hits you about the EQS 450 isn’t what you hear, it’s what you don’t. In a city where the soundtrack is normally honking horns, diesel buses, and the occasional motorcycle revving, the EQS brings something Miami desperately needs: peace. The cabin is remarkably quiet at all speeds, which means finally being able to take business calls while stuck on the MacArthur Causeway without being drowned out by traffic noise.

That silence becomes addictive when you’re creeping through Brickell at rush hour. The EQS 450 reached 60 mph from a standstill in 5.9 seconds, which is more than adequate for darting between lanes when that magical gap opens up on US-1.

Here’s something the automotive press rarely mentions: how does a luxury EV handle our brutal summer heat? The EQS in peak Miami summer is a champ. The air conditioning system is remarkably efficient, and cool and collected. No engine overheating, no anxiety about keeping the AC cranked while waiting for a drawbridge on Biscayne Boulevard.

The 118.0-kWh battery boosts the sedan’s range, which in real-world Miami driving translates to 390 miles. That means I can make it from South Miami to South Beach and back, with plenty of stops for cafecito, without range anxiety.

The EQS 450 epitomizes what I call the Miami paradox: it looks like it belongs in the Design District, but it’s surprisingly practical for actual city life. The EQS is impressively comfortable and practical, which matters when you’re dealing with Miami’s unique driving challenges.

The EQS 450 has changed how I think about luxury cars. It’s not just about having the latest gadgets or the fastest acceleration, it’s about creating a mobile sanctuary in one of America’s most chaotic driving environments. It’s quiet enough for important calls, comfortable enough for our endless traffic, and efficient enough to handle our summer heat without breaking a sweat.

The EQS 450 isn’t just a car, it’s a statement that Miami is ready for an electric future that can’t come fast enough.

Size Meets Style in The Chevy Suburban RST

    2025 Chevy Suburban RST

After decades of hauling America’s families, the Chevrolet Suburban has earned its stripes among the best full-size SUVs. The 2025 RST trim takes this legacy and wraps it in a package that’s equal parts family hauler and suburban statement piece.

Look at the 2025 Suburban RST, and you’ll immediately notice Chevrolet’s commitment to giving this three-ton titan some attitude. The RST treatment blankets the exterior in sharp blackout trim that is both dramatic and stylish. The RST adds a lot of black trim, with optional 24-inch carbon wheels shod with 40-series tires, creating a striking visual.  They perfectly complement the RST’s athletic stance while maintaining the iconic design you’d expect from one of America’s most established SUV nameplates.

Under the hood, the RST offers flexibility to match your driving needs. The standard engine is the venerable 5.3-liter V-8, which provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, with an optional upgrade to the 6.2-liter V-8 which makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft. For those seeking maximum grunt, that optional 6.2-liter V8 delivers the kind of effortless power that makes highway merging with a full load of passengers feel like child’s play.

There’s also a third option that deserves consideration: a 3.0-liter, Duramax diesel beast delivering 305 hp and 495 lb-ft. That torque figure speaks volumes about the diesel’s capability, especially when towing a boat or water skis to Biscayne Bay.

All engines pair with a stellar 10-speed automatic transmission that consistently keeps the powerplant in its sweet spot. In the Suburban, the gearbox is engineered to make sure that the engine is always delivering exactly what you need to navigate South Florida.

The Suburban’s party trick has always been its ability to seat actual adults in all three rows, and the 2025 model continues this tradition admirably. It is designed with large families in mind and offers three rows of seating that can comfortably accommodate up to nine passengers. The extended wheelbase provides ample legroom for all occupants and ensures that even third-row passengers enjoy a comfortable ride.

The RST’s interior receives thoughtful updates for 2025, including what reviewers describe as new “victory red” stitching, adding some pizazz to the interior style. The cabin feels appropriately premium for a vehicle that can rise to $80,000 with some great options.

The Suburban finally gets Chevy’s large screen layout: a 17.7-inch landscape display in the center with an 11-inch unit for the driver. The new infotainment system offers intuitive operation that doesn’t require a computer science degree to navigate.

Google built-in connectivity keeps everyone happy, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain available for those who prefer their familiar smartphone interfaces.

Here’s where the Suburban RST truly shines and separates itself from the truck-based SUV stereotype. The ride is fantastic, with the Suburban feeling composed and comfortable even when fully loaded. As for fuel economy, the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD with the 6.2-liter V8 engine gets 16 mpg combined.

The RST isn’t just about looking good at the country club. For families with towing needs, whether it’s a camper for weekend getaways or a boat for summer adventures, the Suburban RST rises to the occasion. Give it a spin and tell me what you think.

loanDepot Park Acquires Rights To Host Serie Del Caribe For Three Years, Beginning In 2028

    Approved ballpark imagery

Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela will return to Miami for baseball’s premier Winter League championship following a record-breaking 2024 tournament

loanDepot park today announced the venue has acquired the rights to host the prestigious international tournament Serie del Caribe (Caribbean Series) for multiple years, beginning in 2028. The multi-year partnership between the Miami Marlins and professional Winter League Baseball follows the historic 2024 tournament, which saw numerous attendance records, including most attended Serie del Caribe and largest attendance for a single game.

“We are proud to once again bring Serie del Caribe to loanDepot park, solidifying our venue as the premier destination for international baseball,” said Caroline O’Connor, Miami Marlins President of Business. “This historic tournament means so much to our community, and we’re excited that Miami will be the home for multiple years as we continue to build off the record-breaking 2024 tournament.”

Serie del Caribe features teams from the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation including the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Mexico, with additional invited leagues to be announced at a later date. Sanctioned by Major League Baseball through its Winter League agreement with the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation, the Caribbean Series offers U.S. fans an exciting opportunity to participate in witnessing championship-level winter baseball, featuring MLB and MiLB players.

With a remarkably rich history since 1949, the tournament has seen many Hall of Famers and All-Stars participate in the Caribbean Series, including Rod Carew, Miguel Cabrera, Roberto Clemente, Edgar Martinez, David Ortiz, Ivan Rodriguez, Sammy Sosa, and many more. The Tiburones de la Guaira, representing Venezuela, claimed the 2024 title at loanDepot park in front of a sold-out crowd.

Miami’s rich baseball heritage and loanDepot park’s growing legacy as a global stage, hosting marquee baseball events including the World Baseball Classic, make it the perfect home for three more Caribbean Series events. These tournaments further solidify Miami as the epicenter of international baseball.

ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ will continue as the Spanish-language domestic broadcast partners through 2028, bringing the excitement of the Caribbean Series to millions of homes for years to come.
