The trauma and realities of police work that live in the memories of police officers. Retired Police Chief Rene Landa provides insight into his 43 year police career, retirement and work assisting 1st Responders across the Country with Posttraumatic Growth.
Retiring, after a long career, be it law enforcement (or any other profession), can bring about a lot of stress that can often lead to mental health wellness issues. But it is also that long road leading up to the point of retirement, all the many years of traumatic experiences, not fully processed, that can cause great damage long before the final bell tolls. Enter Boulder Crest Foundation and the amazing work they are doing in South Florida and many parts of the United States helping law enforcement get over the potential minefields they must meander through out their career. It is an amazing, positive mental health wellness training that allows the law enforcement community the tools to experience post traumatic growth.
Police Chief Rene Landa (also an intricate part of the Boulder Crest Foundation – Struggle Well Posttraumatic Growth training program) joins hosts Robert Asencio and David Magnusson to discuss these most important issues with a healthy serving of past police events that are sure to keep the viewer spellbound. It is not just about the job, but rather all the gaps surrounding the puzzle pieces, that keep the pieces together, that often go unnoticed.
