Silent Struggle Ep., 17: Public Opinion Polling And Mental Health
On the 17th episode of Silent Struggle, Robert Asencio and David Magnusson looked at the
hypothesis that the virulent political climate in this country can very well affect the mental health of people. Florida Atlantic University polling expert, Dr. Kevin Wagner, shed light on a most recent poll he and his team conducted with Florida voters on a wide array of voting related issues.
The poll results are broken down with some interesting findings discussed. A transition then
takes place regarding a few studies that were revealed via scholarly articles that conclusively showed that mental health issues did arise following the 2016 election with an added increase in the 2020 election cycle. It is a safe assumption to make that the increases will continue now. Discussions ensue as to the ramifications of a lack of respect and acceptance for the difference of opinion and how it can affect the American people’s psyche….the mental health that affects us all.
And for the good of nation, ALL POLITICS ASIDE, we best listen.
