Episode Five of the “Silent Struggle” aired on Monday 9 October 2023. Joining Robert Asencion and David Magnusson at Miami Community News was Luciana Beltran, LMHC, Director of the Mobile Response Unit. What makes Luciana Beltran’s story so compelling regarding the mental health crisis is that one need not go somewhere for help (assistance and assessment), the Mobile Response Unit will come to you.
Imagine needing such crisis assistance for you or a loved one and getting immediate help by dialing 1-800-HELP YOU. Immediate and personalized, skilled clinicians serve as the first stop on the road to recovery. And it is always important to keep in mind that it is always a strength NOT a weakness to take care of one’s self much as they would if they broke an arm or contracted influenza.
The Mobile Response Unit also goes to the schools when a child or adolescent is in crisis. They will work with the parents as well to ensure that the child or adolescent receives continued care and does not fall through the cracks. The clinicians pride themselves on continued follow up.
This episode is one you should not miss. Pen and paper at hand, you can gather all the information you need to make a proactive and prudent decision in the event that a mental health assessment and assistance is needed. And in the event that it is needed, time is of the essence.
