Untreated Mental Health: Ex-Police Officer Brian Sabo’s Story Of Courage To Recover

Community News Studios, on Monday 5 August 2024, Brian Sabo. Brian, a former police officer, who lost his career while descending to the pits of his own personal hell, only to rise like Phenix, and set a course that involved saving others from that which almost destroyed him.
“You have to surrender to win!” is Brian’s motto and suggestion for wellness. He explains
exactly what that means in this episode that asks very important, tough, and personal questions. Brian did not want any tip=toeing around when it comes to reaching out to those who are held captive to the stigma that holds the cell door keys towards betterment.
The dangers of “liquid courage” (drinking) that led to a suicide attempt are discussed. Brian
explains what drinking did for him and his thoughts just prior to his decision to take his life. As he said, “you just want the pain to go away.”
Thankfully and miraculously, the suicide attempt failed. But he found an identity which he says was lost. He mastered his mind and increased his stress capacity to a point where over a decade later, he is in a very good place. But the fight is far from over. It never will be.
This is an episode that must be watched, re-watched, digested, and shared with those who may be in need.
