A Thanksgiving Reflection: Gratitude, Unity and Community

As Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself reflecting on the journey we have taken together as a community as the beautiful City of West Park. This holiday is more than a time for turkey and cranberry sauce—it’s a time to give thanks for the things that matter most: family, friends, health, and the support of those around us.

At its core, Thanksgiving reminds us of the power of gratitude and unity.

Every day, I am grateful for the privilege of serving the people of West Park. Our community’s resilience, compassion, and spirit make me proud to be your mayor. From the businesses that bring character to our streets, to the educators who inspire our children, to the officers that keep us safe, the healthcare workers who care for us all and the staff the keeps the city moving—each of you contributes to the fabric of this city that makes it feels like home.

Thanksgiving is also a time to think of those who may be facing difficulties—whether it’s those experiencing loneliness, financial hardship, or health issues. I encourage everyone who can to reach out to others, lend a hand, or even share a meal with someone who may need it. Kindness, after all, is one of the most valuable gifts we can give.

Looking ahead, I am optimistic about what the future holds for West Park. We will continue to grow, adapt, and rise to new challenges with the same determination we always have.

This Thanksgiving, let us take time to appreciate our loved ones, enjoy good food, and reflect on our shared values as a community. As we gather with loved ones this holiday, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. This season is a time to reflect on the blessings in our lives, and I am especially thankful for the strength, kindness, and unity that make our community so special.

I wish everyone a Thanksgiving filled with joy, warmth, and memorable moments with family and friends. Thank you for all that you bring to West Park and for making our city a wonderful place to call home.
