On Tuesday, October 5, 2021, the Parks and Recreation Department teamed up with the city’s fire department to hold our annual Fire Prevention Week event at Mary Saunders Park located at 4750 SW 21 Street, West Park, Fl. 33023. This event is an annual reminder from safety professionals about the importance of fire safety and preventing extreme hazards.

Fire engines, fire department personnel, and free giveaways were present for participants of all ages to to enjoy. Patrons of the park joined our Youth FORCE After School Program team near the playground tot lot to ask the firefighters questions and learn how to reduce preventable fires. We are pleased that our partners from Broward Sheriff’s Office police and fire departments continue to engage our youth programs with activities in our city.

Fire Prevention Week is a great example of a highlighted event and benefit for students who register, attend, and participate in free programs made available by the city. Please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (954) 985-1990 or email: dmillien@cityofwestpark.org for information on our Youth Force After School Program or any additional free program available to the community.
