Earlier during the spring, the City partnered with Xcyte Fitness, to host a Free 16-Week Fitness Boot Camp program (from March 20 – July 6) at McTyre Park. Several residents of varying ages and fitness levels participated in the program, all the way through week sixteen of their fitness journey, with the help of trainer, Xavier Bryant of Xcyte Fitness.
Thank you to our committed group of participants who took on the challenge every Monday and Thursday. Fitness sessions consisted of a 10-minute warm-up, a full 35-minute rotational exercise session, and concluded with a 10-minute cool down. Participants were continuously engaged with one another and the trainer who encouraged everyone to work at his/her own pace with the goal of completing each session. Cardio, upper body, lower body, endurance improvement, and strength/core exercises were the daily focus of each one-hour session.
