Let me start by saying Thank You. Thank you for placing your faith and confidence in me as the best choice to represent you for the next four years. Thank you to Ruby Seymour–Barr and Reeta Nielly Mills for running a clean and congenial race. I realize it was a very close race and easily could have gone in any direction.
Many of you know this was not the first time that I ran, and it just goes to show that perseverance and hard work pays off in the end. A special Thank You to the members of the Twin Lakes Homeowners Association for allowing me to celebrate my win at their annual Smoke Off event.
Congratulations to Andrew Brott, for the winning recipe as determined by the crew from BSO Fire Engine 27 Captain Robert “Bobby” Reed, Driver Thomas Craven and Firefighter Andy Sylvestre. I know from experience that this was not an easy decision.
As I take office, I pledge to you to continue the great work that has been done to get us through our first 10 years. I want to continue to expand and improve upon both the senior and youth programs that were spearheaded by former Vice Mayor Brunson, and hope to be able to continue working with her non-profit group. I will also work to strengthen the relationships we have with neighboring cities.
I realize there are several issues that need to be looked into and dealt with, and I hope to tackle each one no matter how big or small. It is my goal to be able to hold regular office hours, and I will have a schedule made available that is flexible and viable for all concerned.
In closing, I wish everyone a very healthy and happy holiday season, and again I look forward to working with you and for you over the next few years to make West Park a great city in which we can all live, work and play.
